MP backs biodiesel tax break campaign

Liberal Democrat MP Andrew George is backing a campaign to keep tax breaks for who produce biodiesel.
Producers converting cooking oil into biodiesel presently benefit from a 20p differential however that is due to end next April.
The St Ives MP, who leads the Lib Dem Environment Team, has been meeting the UK sustainable biodiesel alliance.
Mr George said "a variety of small companies in Cornwall currently generate income from utilized cooking oil".
He included: "In order to be able to get this type of market going it does need simply a bit of lift which is available in the form of tax inevitable."
Biodiesel is a blend of standard diesel, rapeseed and veggie oils.
